Lab-created means eco-friendly and conflict-free
The gemstones which are hidden in our candles are either natural, but easily traced and recognized, or lab-created (and to be specific, this pertains to moissanite). This does not mean, however, that the latter are fake. Moissanite is an alternative to a diamond. Not a counterfeit, but simply an alternative, as it’s created in a lab. It looks strikingly similar and some say that it is even better, because it’s more reflective and not as expensive.
You could say: but diamonds are forever! Perhaps they are, but have your heard about their dark side? Not without a reason sometimes they are called “blood diamonds”. They contribute to exploiting the environment and exploiting the people who mine them. For years they have been the cause of many conflicts. Many people have died because of them. We want you to enjoy the gemstones’ sparkle, but stay away from all the damage they can do, so we opt for the alternative – moissanite.
What can you find in our candles?
At Diamond Empire, in the most valuable candles you will find either a lab-created moissanite or a natural gemstone of which we were able to track the record. Contrary to diamonds, for example, opals, tourmalines, or rubies are easier to verify.
Apart from those, we offer other beautiful lab-created gemstones, identical to the mined ones, but acquired in a sustainable way. In a lab, a team of specialists puts together the same chemical components as nature does. Their origin is different, but they look the same and are made of the same components. This does not mean they are fake!
