Why do the candles have two wicks?
Diamond Empire Candles uses two wicks to prevent tunnelling. Tunneling is when the candle does not burn to the edges of the candle, and instead burns straight down.
To avoid tunneling, ensure that each time you burn your candle, you allow the wax to melt to the edge. To safely remove your jewellery, your candle will need to have as little tunneling as possible.
How should I care for my Diamond Empire Candles?
Always use a candle holder specifically designed for candle use. The holder should be heat resistant, sturdy, and large enough to contain any drips or melted wax. Never burn your candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time. Once your candle reaches 4cm in height, stop using the candle.
To prevent damage and ensure safety, keep away from children, burn within sight, keep away from flammable items, do not extinguish any candle with a lid or liquid.
Use tweezers to remove the jewellery. Remove jewellery with caution, the wick and wax are very hot and can cause burns and discomfort. Please make sure to keep your candle unlit when removing the jewellery.
Before relighting, make sure you have removed all wrapping foils from the container.
Why is my candle moving in the glass?
Due to the cold, the wax may unfortunately shrink and detach from the glass. This can displace the wax in the jar, which can create a gap in the bottom of the candle. In this case, simply place the candle in a warm place for several hours before using it. The wax will expand and stick back to the glass. This is a normal thing that happens due to temperature changes.
Why are there white spots in my candle?
The white spots on the candle are called “frost”. Frosting is a natural characteristic of soy wax and it is not considered a flaw. This aspect won’t interfere with the scent or burning properties of your candle.
Having frost on your soy candle is a way of telling that your product is made with 100% pure soy wax .
To prevent this effect from continuing you should keep your candle in a dry and cool place. Keep it away from direct sunlight.
You may also sometimes find small droplets on the top of your candle. This is often caused by temperature changes and will not affect the burn quality.
I have questions about the jewellery itself.
